Day 5
So far when I played this game, I would consider that I have lost every single time because I ended up with killing people. However, this time I didn't. I think this is the way to go for me. Playing bold.
I built medium processing plant with bioplastic processor and metal processor inside and connected it with a small sick bay with one bed.
When I realized my colonists were doing fine, even better than when I actually tried last time, I built a medium sized bar with standing table, bar table, drinks machine, drinking fountain and tv. I just built it because I wanted to risk it and see where it goes from there. But they were still doing fine! So I built a landing pad and only accepted the colonists ship to get more people to use my resources. After like three people, there was no problem with my base. I didn't run out of power or food. So I just randomly decided to build a bio-dome that is very large to use up my resources.
I actually wasn't planning to build a landing pad but I wanted more people to use my resources so... only colonists and no trader ship.
I honestly didn't mind playing this game. I actually wanted to play more every single time when I had to stop. It was funny to see what I could do to ruin the colonists' days. It made me think what to do or make in order to keep them alive and healthy. It is not an easy game but it is definitely enjoyable.
Started out like I always do.
Like I always do, I built an airlock with medium oxygen tank and large solar panel. Medium water extractor, large power collector and large wind turbine attached to the base. Now I think about it, I should have built it small and tried out.
Later, I built medium canteen with table, drinking fountain, meal maker and a tv, then I connected it with medium bio-dome with rice pad, onion pad, medical pad and a lettuce pad.
In the dorm(medium) I built after, there were only 3 bunk beds, so they would have to switch with other people every time. Mine I built was far from the airlock, they would have to go around the base to get to the mine.I built medium processing plant with bioplastic processor and metal processor inside and connected it with a small sick bay with one bed.

As you can see in the bottom-left corner, there were not enough materials.
Later, I disabled a landing pad and stayed with what I had with no people dying...

Day 4 continued
So I tried to be more condense of the base structure and I think I actually did it.
I think this base is well spread out
As soon as I launched the game, I built airlock, small oxygen generator, water extractor, medium solar panel and small power collection. It's like a combo set. Then to support the power, I built a small wind turbine. For the colonists, built middle sized canteen and middle sized dorm, with 3 bunk beds, and then I filled canteen with meal maker, drinking fountain, table and tv for people's entertainment. To support the food storage, I built middle sized bio-dome and put radish pad, rice pad, onion pad medical pad.
Just in case if people started to get hurt, I built small sized sick bay with a bed inside. I wanted to avoid letting people out in the sandstorm so I also built a control centre (medium size) with security console, radio console, telescope console and an armoury, if we are under attack it will come in handy I assume. Later, in need of more people and more supplies of traders, I built a landing pad and mine to trade ore. I also made a processing plant to change ore into metal with bioplastic processor and metal processor inside.
You can see the recycled radio console
I was keep having problem with a power this time so I built large power collector and tried to connect it with large wind turbine, which a bot had trouble with.. I was out of metal which made me recycle radio console and let a bot build wind turbine with it. I also tried to build medium telescope and medium solar panel which I had to recycle due to low amount of metal...
The base at night
I killed lots of people with starvation..... they couldn't get enough food from bio-dome.... and I had too many power shutdowns...
Day 4
Yesterday, I played for my first time and I had lots of problems. I had buildings too much at the side so when I was trying to build more structures, it wouldn't let me attach it. So today, I am going to try to get to a flat area and build it more condensed, spread out, and I hope the meteor doesn't kill any more of my colonists..

Day 3
I finally played the game itself instead of tutorial. When I first loaded the game up, the meteor landed on one of my colonists, instantly killing him. Unfortunately, I do not have a screenshot :(
I started again...
So I started the game again, and the first thing I built was oxygen generator since they will need to breathe. Then I connected it with airlock so they have a place to go in. I continued with building a canteen for place to eat and built a solar panel for the power. (Oh, all of the structures are size 2 or just default. No different sizes.)I decided to recycle the ship that the colonists took to get to this planet. I built power collector and water extractor with wind turbine.
In the Canteen, I built a meal maker, drinking fountain and a table for the colonists.
At night, I built them a dorm with three bunk beds so they all have places to sleep in.
You can see the recycled ship
Then when it was morning again, I made a bio-dome and added rice pad, onion pad with medical pad. Since I added medical pad, I connected a sick bay to the bio-dome with bed inside. I, then, built base pad and landing pad, which had trader ship to trade and colonist ship. When we were running low on food, I added potato pad to help. Then I could not build any more of structure so I quit.
It wouldn't let me continue building...
The choices that I made don't really have any deeper meanings... I just wanted to try. The placement of each structures are just what I thought would be efficient to colonists, such as why I put sick bay beside bio-dome. I thought it would be a good idea to put it beside each other because bio-dome has a medical pad inside. Inside of the bio-dome, the reason why I built rice, onion, potato and medical pad is that I just wanted to grow them... Well, for the medical pad, I needed for the sick bay.
This is what it looked like in the end
I guess my goal was to try and build as many structures as possible. (even though I had to stop..)
I earned milestone of Survival and Expansion.
From the trader ship, I traded few meals and cash with starch, metal and spare items. The second time when it stopped by, I traded few meal with ore.
From the colonist ship, I got two more colonists.
Overall of what I got from this game isn't that bad. In fact, I really like this game. It is fun to just make them do work.. :)

Planet Base Tutorial
How to
When you start the game tutorial, the first thing you will have build is oxygen generator to be able to breathe. Then you will build solar panel, for the power, water extractor, air lock then canteen. It will also ask you to make lots of part of the base, including sick bay, mine, dorm and the power collector.
Later, your crew will work on their specific area, such as biologists working in the Bio-Dome and bots building structures. At the end, you will be building a Landing Pad so the new colonists could arrive and help out.
As I mentioned earlier, first thing you will make is an Oxygen Generator. In the beginning of the tutorial of the Planetbase, you aren't allowed to build wherever you want and whatever you want. You will only build what they ask you to build in a specific order and places but near the end, you still have to follow what to build but you can choose the placement.
The tutorial of this game was different for the fact I didn't have freedom in the placement of the structures but it didn't seem that much different. (Well, it IS only a tutorial...) If I could, I would have placed buildings in other locations.
One of the bots broke down, becoming the poor condition, needed to be repaired. It got repaired bit later by an engineer named Heath Noble. (It is not weird to know that name.)
Tips and tricks you can use in the game are [+], where it fast forwards the time of the game, [-], where it slows back down, [ALT] shows the resources you have gathered and WASD moves the camera and QE rotates the camera.
The Help Menu gives you the description of what the game is about. Every topics you click, it gives you in more detail of what you can do with it.

What Not To Do
Don't leave the game running or it WILL kill all of your colonists without any notifications.

My first impression of Planet Base
Planetbase is strategy game where you lead space colonists
to a new planet to establish a base.
Title screen of the game
The game Planetbase is where you will tell the colonists
what to build and where to build in order to survive. You will need to ensure
the constant supply of food, water and oxygen. Also you will get the group to
collect energy, manufacture bots, mine metals, grow food, and build a base. The
main goal is, as you can guess, to survive.
There will be three choices of planets to choose from which
are
·
Desert Planet
·
Frozen Planet
·
Gas Giant Moon
You will need to use whatever they have to harness the power
for the base in each of the planet. Any raw resources that are available in the
planet will be able to be established into product you might need. Managing the
immigration of colonists is also important because you don’t want people doing
the jobs that they are not fit for.
Wind turbine and solar panels to harness the power
The environment will not always be peaceful. You might have
to survive disasters like meteors, sandstorms or solar flares. There will also
be intruders you will have to defend the base from. Build your own bots that
will help you with more tasks. Grow your planet to hundreds of colonists!
Meteor that has landed at the side of hill
In the walk-through video of the Planetbase, the first colonists arrives and starts to set up the base to gather the supplies and for the people who will follow them.
The goal of the game is to fulfil the needs of the people on the planet. You will need to establish the base, grow food, get water and get oxygen.
The controls to work this game is simply you use the combination of mouse and keyboard. While playing the game, you will have to pay attention to the air supplies throughout the base and the condition of the bots.
